How much does a wedding cost in Pakistan?

Karachi: about Rs1 million for an average wedding in the 2025 winter season. Bookings through one Pakistani wedding platform averaged about Rs600,000, with budgets from Rs20,000 to Rs4.4 million; venues raised rates by up to Rs500 a head in 2026. The biggest single cost is food: our estimate is Rs 1,200 to Rs 4,500 per guest per function, so the headcount at each function decides most of the bill.

The items that make up the bill

  • Food per head (hall menu): Rs 1,200 (low), Rs 2,600 (middle), Rs 4,500 (high).
  • Hall charges (rent, AC) per function: Rs 0 (low), Rs 100,000 (middle), Rs 215,000 (high).
  • Stage and décor per function: Rs 40,000 (low), Rs 65,000 (middle), Rs 1,000,000 (high).
  • Bridal dress: Rs 15,000 (low), Rs 250,000 (middle), Rs 700,000 (high).
  • Sherwani and groom’s outfit: Rs 49,999 (low), Rs 95,000 (middle), Rs 140,000 (high).
  • Bridal makeup per main function: Rs 20,000 (low), Rs 50,000 (middle), Rs 180,000 (high).
  • Bridal henna (mehndi): Rs 8,000 (low), Rs 12,500 (middle), Rs 17,000 (high).
  • Photo and video per function: Rs 20,000 (low), Rs 45,000 (middle), Rs 250,000 (high).
  • Invitation card (each): Rs 85 (low), Rs 235 (middle), Rs 650 (high).
  • Decorated car for the baraat (per car, per day): Rs 15,000 (low), Rs 25,500 (middle), Rs 75,000 (high).

Gold and taxes

Gold was Rs 426,036 per tola on 2026-11-04; multiply by the tola you plan to buy, and check the day’s rate.

Hall bills carry 10% withholding tax. Karachi halls also pay a KMC tax per function, and KP has a fixed hall tax per function (see the city pages).
