Questions families ask
How much does a wedding cost in Pakistan?
It depends most on guests and city. For a standard Lahore wedding with a mehndi of 200 and a baraat and walima of 350 guests each, our sourced figures give about Rs 40.3 lakh (range Rs 15.2 lakh to Rs 1 crore), before gold. Business Recorder put the average Karachi wedding at about Rs1 million in the 2025 winter season.
Where do the prices come from?
From dated public sources: news reports (Dawn, Business Recorder, The News, Profit, ProPakistani), official tax notices, and prices businesses advertise publicly. Each range says how it was worked out. Last checked 2026-11-04.
Do I need an account?

What is the one dish law?
In Punjab, the Marriage Functions Act 2016 allows only one dish at weddings in halls and other public places (one salan, one rice dish, salad, roti or naan, drinks and one sweet dish) and requires functions to end by 10 pm. Islamabad has a similar one-dish rule; KP allows a set menu until 11 pm.
